Turtle Run HOA Board Members

President Skip Carney

Skip and his wife, Cathy, moved to Turtle Run in 1996 and proudly raised 5 kids in the Turtle Run community. Skip’s background is in the hospitality business, an industry he worked in for over 40 years. While in this industry, he led departments for major hotels, managing budgets and financials as well as ensuring a successful curb appeal for the properties. Skip serves as a board member in both the Turtle Run Community Development District and the HOA. As a board member, he feels it’s important that members of the board are business minded individuals who are financially accountable to the community. Skip wants this new board to create an up to date website with information that will consistently keep homeowners informed, something the old website is lacking.

Vice President – Lloyd List

Lloyd and his wife have been residents of Turtle Run for over 25 years. After leaving a successful career in law enforcement due to an injury, he started a company 22 years ago specializing in non-narcotic pain management. Lloyd brings his business and customer service experience to the table. Lloyd currently serves on the HOA board. He believes a new board needs to have something that the current board lacks, transparency. He stresses the importance of being a friend as well as a resource to neighbors rather than an adversary, which is how the culture of the current board is. As a board member, Lloyd aims to work closely with residents, bringing sanity and fiscal responsibility back to a board that has gone wild. Lloyd stresses that the entire community of homeowners own the board, not a few chosen individuals.

Treasurer – Rob Shipe

Rob and his wife have lived in Turtle Run since 1996 and raised their family here. Rob currently works for a major airline out of the Miami International Airport. He’s served in many leadership positions in his kids youth activities over the years and is currently serving as a board member of the Turtle Run Community Development District. Rob is stepping forward now to help get the HOA back to a functioning state. He believes it’s been operating without oversight and not following the governing documents or the Florida 720 statutes that are supposed to control it. He hopes to bring openness, information sharing and adherence to the rules of the association.

Secretary – Sal Gambino

Sal and his wife have been Turtle Run residents for just over 3 years. He has served as a police officer for over 20 years. Sal is interested in being a board member to be a part of the community and its future. If elected, he’d like to offer transparency to residents and hold all board members accountable for their actions. Sal also wants residents to be kept up to date on all aspects of the community.

Director – Alex Fernandez

Alex has been a resident of Turtle Run for over 5 years. He aims to maintain the vibrant community, characterized by its friendly and trustworthy neighbors. Currently, he serves as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for a private e-commerce platform. Alex’s interest in being a board member derives from observing instances of reckless spending and unethical practices under the current board. As a board member, Alex’s goal is to offer a fresh perspective, improve community awareness and practice sensible spending for the community’s next chapter.
