Turtle Run Park July Updates

1.) Pickleball / Tennis Courts are currently being resurfaced for 3 Tennis Courts and 6 Pickleball Courts.; existing fence will remain as is. Surfacing will consist of 2” of black acrylic with a fiberglass topping. All being striped upon completion.

2.) Beach Volleyball Courts Existing railroad ties have been removed. A concrete perimeter has been poured to retain the sand. New netting has been installed. Completed

3.) Social Area a new canopy has been installed. The area will be utilized as a social area, with the addition of park benches and exercise equipment.

4.) Parking Lot is to be resurfaced, new curbing is being poured to replace old broken curbing.

5.) Playset has been completed the new black vinyl coated steel fence has been installed.

6.) Stamped Concrete Pathway is still part of the park program. Although for the short run the paver pathway to the playset and around the park will be maintained and utilized at this time.

7.) Court Lighting for the newly renovated courts will be in the 2026 budget for the city. Solar lighting is still a possibility.

8.) The existing Basketball Courts will be removed to make room for the new pavilion. A new Basketball Court will be in the cities 2026 budget and will be placed close to the school on the west side of the park.

9.) Surveillance Cameras will be in the Cities 2026 budget. The goal is to have cameras in all city parks.

10.) Irrigation Upgrades, the green space between the ballfield and Turtle Run Blvd needs to be reevaluated. The current lack of irrigation has created excessive browning. Although irrigation lines were run, lack of coverage still exists.

11.) New Pavilion pad will be poured shortly after the removal of the basketball court. The New Pavilion will be 40ft. X 20ft. twice the size of the old pavilion.

12.) Restrooms will start being renovated in October.

Turtle Run Park has a small pavilion available for use. Turtle Run Park also features basketball courts, a playground and more.
